Boy on the edge of the water : photo by Malcolm Aslett
This was created partly by stitching with the program in PS. It often makes a mess of things it doesn't understand and there is alot of 'correction' involved. This image required the main figure being redone and some patching of vegetation and wrongly attributed tones and colours. In the end I liked some of the mistakes and kept them with a little doctoring to fit in. The image below shows one, where the foreground herbiage was transferred to the distant hills. It's such a nice Macro and Micro moment that works because we are not looking for it. Even when we know the imagination makes it work. The irreal colouring of the foreground figure and the dapples of sunshine add to this world of particles collected. Though the curve of the waterline was much greater originally I still kept the suggestion of it. It curves upwards and makes a sphere of the heavens. A bit of extension and darkening of the outer areas provided it with an old fashioned photograph effect, the oval egg within the viewing frame. Makes it cosy and puzzling at the same time. |
